MOMOYAMA HOUSE in Jutaku Tokushu magazine

We are very pleased that this house features on the August issue cover of this most important Japanese residential architecture magazine. We were structural engineers for this building, designed with Erika Nakagawa Architects.

For the roof structure we used a series of steel panels bolted together astride cruciform connectors made from heavy flat bars. The whole assembly sits on top of reinforced concrete cantilever columns connected via pin connections. A lightweight, very open frame is the result.

It was a real pleasure to design the structure for this beautiful house.
